XP/Toolkit™

Carreker's Toolkit is a Microsoft Windows® based application program that supports the 3890/XP Series document processors. XP/Toolkit lets you create and change run profiles, associated files, and document endorsements. These files contain the information that you need to run your sort programs on the 3890/XP.

SUMMARY

XP/Toolkit is a Microsoft Windows® based product that simplifies the creation of 389x/XP run profiles and endorsements. Via formatted, menu-driven screens, the user can easily create customized run profiles and define the content specific endorsements for the programmable endorser. A run-time facility allows the sort program to select these user-defined endorsements during MICR Capture.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Full-screen user interfaces with field sensitive help
  • Function Key Driven
  • Run Profile Editor (RPE) to create and modify the following files used for 389x/XP initialization:
    • Run Profile
    • Pocket Definition Table
    • Sort Message Table
    • Special Symbol Table
    • Programmable Endorse Data
  • Endorse Control Program (ECP) to take advantage of the 389x/XP programmable endorse feature
  • Definition Facility
    • Define up to 100 different endorsements to be selected on a "per document" basis, including "default endorsement"
    • Specify location of variables to substitute in the endorsement (depositor account number, source of receipt, pocket number, etc.)
  • Run Time Facility-Runs on the 389x/XP
    • Retrieves the endorsement ID from the sort program
    • Formats data and substitutes variables
    • Passes the formatted endorsement to the 389x/XP for printing
  • Support for XP/LSI run-profile extentions.

DESCRIPTION

RUN PROFILE EDITOR
The Run Profile Editor aids in creating and changing run profiles and associated files needed to run 3890/XP sort programs. A run profile includes the file names and paths of files that define a pocket definition table, programmable endorse data, a sort message table, and a special symbol sequence table. XP/Toolkit includes real time validation, smart format functions, one-click comments, and support for XP/LSI keywords.

ENDORSE CONTROL PROGRAM
The Endorse Control Program (ECP) allows the changing of the endorsement for each document printed by the 3890/XP and consists of a definition facility and a run time facility.

DEFINITION FACILITY
The ECP definition facility, which runs on a workstation, aids in creating, changing, and deleting endorsements which are kept in PSD files on disk. Capabilities include:

  • Define up to 100 selectable endorsements that are stored in a PSD file.
  • Specifying variable information for the ECP run time facility, such as date, sort pocket number, or document account number.
  • Specifying double-wide characters as part of an endorsement.

RUN TIME FACILITY
The ECP run time facility, which runs on a sorter, can dynamically change endorsements by document. A PSD file created by the ECP definition facility contains the endorsements. The sort program selects an endorsement by storing its ID in auxiliary storage. The run time facility reads the ID, gets the endorsement, performs variable substitution and conversion, and passes the endorsement to the 3890/XP for printing.

POWER ENCODE PROGRAM
The power encode feature of the 3892/XP document processor allows you to encode MICR data on your documents. Toolkit's Power Encode Program (PEP) provides encoding from a utility encode function and encoding from the process buffer data in the sorter. The PEP consists of a definition facility and a run time facility.

IREC EDITOR
This editor provides new wizards to provide guidance to define endorsements and in utilizing the item numbering features. It provides the ability to view and edit all of the saved program storage area, including SCI code. Data can be viewed in hex, ASCII and EBCDIC formats.

SCI DIS-assembler
A SCI Dis-assembler allows for any portion of the program storage to be dis-assembled, including SBT tables for debugging and problem resolution. Input files may either be a PROGSTOR.DMP via the 3890/XP's Dump command or an .SCI file via the 3890/XP's SAVE command.
