Check Image Export™ (CIE)
Carreker's Check Image Export (CIE)
provides banks the ability to
export check images from the Carreker
High Performance Transaction
System (HPTS) to other systems and
applications requiring the images
and index data.
SUMMARY
The Carreker Check Image Export
(CIE) product supports the export
of images and index data from the
Carreker High Performance Transaction
System (HPTS) Image Delivery System
(IDS) to other systems and applications
requiring them.
The Image Delivery System (IDS)
gives banks and other financial institutions
the ability to deliver images of
processed documents to their customers
using the following types of media:
- CD-ROMs through the Extended
Data Conversion Interface (XDCI)
- On-line access through
High-Speed Image Browse (HSIB)
- Common Import Format File (CIFF)
Data Set
CIE may also be used in a single
enterprise to move the same data
between multiple HPTS/ALS CIMS systems
when used with the Carreker Check
Image Import product.
Check Image Export runs on a MVS
platform as a batch job, and can
be run in multiple copies at the
same time in a single system. This
ability to run multiple concurrent
jobs can give banks the power they
it needs to process additional volume
without acquiring additional software.
FUNCTION
Each type of media has a level of
index data, for example, Magnetic
Ink Character Recognition (MICR)
data and bank application data, which
is associated with each image provided.
Check Image Export allows images
to be captured on High Performance
Transaction System capture systems
and then externalized, with their
associated index data, to systems
and applications that require the
index and image data. Check Image
Export allows banks more flexible
hardware configurations regarding
image capture and image application
processing.
PROCESS
The customer is responsible for
creating the input data sets from
available image data and index data
and delivering it to the system where
Check Image Export runs.
The processing phases of the Check
Image Export system consist of :
- Initialization
- Processing the run-level options
- Validating the input data sets
- Processing the input data sets
- Retrieving images from a CIMS
target repository
- Making index data, defined and
provided by the user, available
to a user exit for formatting
- Creating the image key
- Writing the output record(s)
to the CIFF data set, defined by
the CIIDATAX DD statement
- Retrieving images from one or
more CIMS source repositories,
and creating a common import format
file (CIFF) as its output
FEATURES
Financial institutions can effectively
use Check Image Export:
- To export images and index data
from one or more High Performance
Transaction System, Application
Library Services, or CIMS. The
image data and index data from
the institution's capture systems
is input to the CIFF data set creation
process performed by these institutions.
- To exchange index and image data
bank-to-bank.
- To transfer intra-enterprise
images among capture centers.
- To move intra-enterprise images
among CIMS environments.
- To set up an image capture service
bureau using the High Performance
Transaction System to capture,
verify image quality, correct unusable
images, and deliver the captured
data (in CIFF format) with index
data.
