Sort Table Editor Product (STEP)
In any check processing environment,
there is a constant need to make
changes to sort patterns, the main
components of which are the sort
tables. These tables represent the
"logic maps" that guide the item
pocket selection decision process
executed by the sorter during the
capture and sort runs. Carreker's
Sort Table Editor Product (STEP)
is a Windows® -based solution
using an intuitive graphical interface
that lets you create, accept, edit,
and validate Sort Pattern Generator
(SPG) tables used to control the
sort process of the IBM 3890/XP Document
Processor.
The system provides an easy-to-use
graphical tool that builds and maintains
those logic maps. STEP provides the
ability to change the sort table
data in an orderly, logical, and
methodical fashion, increasing efficiency
and reducing errors.
FEATURES
- STEP is a Windows®-based application
that works with Windows® 95,
98, and NT.
- STEP takes advantage of the Windows® graphical
user interface for its data presentation
and manipulation.
- STEP supports SPG 3.1 sort tables
that are compatible with IBM's Check
Processing Control Program (CPCS)
version 1.11
- STEP is easy to install, using
a standard Windows® operating
system based application.
- There is no requirement to change
your existing standard SPG 3.1 system
to support and interface with STEP.
- STEP edits and validates data as
it is entered, eliminating the majority
of the errors typically produced
when entering and manipulating sort
table data in a less automated production
environment.
- STEP uses existing Windows workstations
that do not require additional
hardware and software other than
MS Access® 97.
BENEFITS
Sort Table Editor (STEP) offers
users significant benefits:
Reduced Data Entry Errors
With its real-time data checking
and validation, using STEP will
reduce the number of errors when
building sort tables.
Built In Validation Rules
STEP is delivered with pre-defined
validation rules and edit criteria.
This eliminates the need to learn
and determine the values for table
fields.
Extensive Table Editing
STEP provides extensive editing capabilities
to ensure the building of valid
sort patterns.
Current And Accepted Platform
STEP is easy to install and use.
As a Windows® - based product,
initial requirements for education
and training are reduced for personnel
maintaining sort patterns.
Standard Data Conversion
STEP provides built-in functions
that import standard SPG 3.1 tables
to its database. This provides
a quick and accurate method of
building STEP data.
Complements SPG 3.1
STEP was designed specifically to
support Carreker's Sort Pattern
Generator (SPG) sort tables. This
allows you to maintain the SPG
tables in an easy, fast, and accurate
manner. You do not have to make
changes to SPG to use STEP.
Graphical User Interface
STEP takes advantage of the Windows® GUI,
mouse, and hotkeys features. This
allows you to easily access and change
table data.
Easy To Learn And Use
STEP provides comprehensive on-line
help, editing, and validating rules
that make it intuitive and easy
to learn and use.
Allows Quick And Mass Changes
