Sort Pattern Generator (SPG)

Nowhere is the impact of change more significant than the area of sort patterns. Float loss, opportunity cost and project delays can all result from your inability to respond quickly to the changes. SPG provides the ability to react when opportunity arises by allowing the user to make table changes online.

Sort Pattern Generator (SPG) works beyond basic functions by generating tables that provide the following:

  • Edit parameters for on-us items
  • Account Reconcilement Procedure account information or serial number verification
  • Account control parameters
  • Bank control information
  • Process code validation
  • Cash letter name and address controls
  • Transit float assignment
  • Application document selection
  • 3890 sorter controls and memory mapping

BENEFITS

EASY TO USE
The sorter relies on the SCI and OLRR programs for instructions as to how to validate and identify items. SPG gives you a way to issue those instructions in a table format which can be understood by the SCI and OLRR programs. With such a table maintenance system, you can more easily define and change your bank's sort patterns. This provides a centralized maintenance system for sort tables, on-us edits, float tables, and cash letter tables.

FAST SPG
Allows you to quickly change your sort patterns by making table changes without reassembling SCI/OLRR programs. Therefore, you can change 3890 sorter pocket and editing decisions without complex program training. You can direct on-us and transit items to desired pockets, create new prime or sub-pass sort patterns, assign bank and customer float, and determine on-us editing requirements.

FLEXIBLE
You can make sort changes to maximize flexibility and float. SPG reduces the risk associated with making such changes, allowing your bank to save money in float reductions. SPG saves time and money by simplifying the addition of new banks to the System when mergers or acquisitions occur. It also allows cut limit sorting to help minimize item charges at FED and correspondent banks.

FUNCTIONAL
Sort Pattern Generator's user centric design:

  • Eliminates the need to reassemble the SCI/OLRR programs for sort pattern changes
  • Provides extensive table editing to ensure the installation of valid sort patterns
  • Provides capability to sort items based upon all MICR fields
  • Allows the user to control on-us edits and add new applications
  • Provides comprehensive bank and customer float tables that include:
