Production Utilities
Carreker's Production Utilities ™
consists of a series of programs
designed to enhance the productivity
of your CPCS check processing department
by eliminating manual efforts and "single-thread" types
of processing. These programs include:
JOBS
Carreker's Job Scheduler allows CPCS
users to submit "batch jobs" such
as extracts, report programs, etc.,
via a CPCS terminal to the internal
reader. This feature reduces or
eliminates the need for the console
operator to intervene in the execution
of batch jobs. This gives the check
area more control over their complete
processing responsibilities, eliminating
the need to schedule "batch
jobs" through computer operations.
STRING DELETION (ZOOM)
ZOOM is a menu
OPTIONAL FIELD CAPTURE
Optional Field Capture is a utility
that allows capture of Optional
Field Four and Six previous to
CPCS Release 1.10. This utility
can still be used in Release 1.10
or higher, if the user does not
wish to utilize the expanded Mass
Data Set capabilities of the later
CPCS releases.
SPRAYER
During a CPCS "MICR" restart,
kill bundles are created for each
pocket. It is then necessary for
the sorter operator to manually place
divider slips in each pocket to keep
the kill lists and kill bundles in
sync. Sprayer increases the efficiency
of MICR restarts by eliminating this
manual intervention and automatically
spraying divider slips to each pocket
when a restart is detected. This
can have a significant impact on
a bank's sorter throughput and reduces
the possibility of human error.
In addition, Sprayer assures the
cash letter research and preparation
areas that kill bundles and kill
lists match. This significantly minimizes
the possibility of cash letter errors
and avoids the manpower expended
to remedy accidental misplacement
or absence of manually inserted divider
slips.
ADDITIONAL UTILITIES
MICR PLUS
MICR Plus is a system designed to
allow "concurrent" processing
of subsequent pass and reject repair
previous to CPCS Release 1.10.
Reject processing and subsequent
pass processing may begin at the
tracer level instead of the entry
level, allowing processing before
the prime entry is completed. This
increases productivity and reduces
float loss.
LOW SPEED KILL LIST Low Speed Kill List is a utility
program that uses corrected reject
string (R-string) as input and creates
an I-string as output. This allows
Distribution and Kill to occur on
this string of data. The net result
is that the user is provided with
Kill listings by pocket for all the
corrected rejects.
