This makes balancing far less labor intensive and increases management control. It also eliminates the printouts required for balancing, while providing a more comprehensive audit trail.

ORS enables reconcilers to identify errors, make adjustments, and balance work completely on-line. This on-line access avoids bottlenecks in the reconcilement area, minimizes manual PLST balancing, and eliminates adjustments made after the fact. The audit control capabilities of ORS assure that every transaction initiated will include key audit information, including operator ID, type of transaction, and time of day, all of which are included in an audit list detail report. All audit information is available in a single, concise report.

The system also provides a system activity report that summarizes daily activity on overall CPCS totals, totals by entry, tracer and block. Other key reports include operator performance statistics and a monthly summary report. These reports help management identify operator volumes, elapsed times for balancing, and performance deviations.
