Carreker's NeXGen Settlement is a Windows®-based PC application complete with a comprehensive array of tools to aid bank check operational personnel in conducting final settlement activities on a daily or shift by shift basis. NeXGen Settlement is the first substantive breakthrough in check operational settlement since the early 1970's. It is a completely re-engineered approach to settlement, providing the traditional settlement tools of older systems while adding features that the industry has been requesting for decades.

NeXGen Settlement is more than a simple spreadsheet or database application. It's built for bank settlement. But it performs settlement at a fraction of the effort and time required by existing settlement applications. You don't have to have an army of programmers and operational specialists to maintain NeXGen Settlement and you settle the operation faster. It's also a snap to learn and use.

NeXGen Settlement uses data collected and downloaded from most legacy check processing systems to derive internal bank application totals by product, procedure, or bank applications. These applications might include savings, demand deposit accounting (DDA), general ledger, teller cash, ATM and Transit Processing.

ACCUMULATORS
NeXGen Settlement interprets check processing related information and assigns it to one or more internal bucket(s) or accumulators. These are used to settle incoming totals from sending banks or branches with totals processed by the bank during capture and downstream processing. Accumulators can represent entire applications or can be a subsection of a larger total. The system also has a utility that uses the customer's existing control files and sort logic to build most of these accumulations automatically.

SETTLEMENT AUTO-PILOT
The system monitors and tracks data from prime capture to extract and post. Any changes to information are recorded and automatically updated. Once processing is completed for a particular unit, the posting totals are automatically compared to the totals accumulated during the day.

A COMPLETE TOOLBOX
Authorized users have a complete array of research tools and query capabilities to research any perceived balancing and settlement outage. Capabilities include:

• Point-N-Click allows users to easily view and print any level of detail desired.
  
• Search-and-Find provides an array of find/research capabilities that make looking for any out of balance condition a one-screen process.
  
• Access To Legacy Systems uses ODBC compliant technology, allowing almost any output to be generated to other legacy systems.
  
• Management Reporting provides the ability to create ad hoc reports for one-time display and printing, or saving to be run as required.
  

OTHER USES
NeXGen Settlement can be used to settle any operation (i.e., credit card, EFT, ATM, and ECP).
