Automated Cash
Letter System™ (ACLS)
Carreker's Automated Cash Letter
System (ACLS) completely manages
the cash letter process. It takes
kill bundle data from the CPCS
kill bundle file and creates
cash letter records. These records
provide input for settlement tapes,
posting files and various reports
and documents.
SUMMARY
Carreker's Automated Cash Letter
System (ACLS) is the industry standard,
replacing virtually every manual
cash letter process with state-of-the-art
automation. ACLS helps you access
the "window of opportunity" in
cash letter processing. In addition,
ACLS saves you money by minimizing
the labor intensive and error prone
reporting process of cash letter
activity and funds availability.
HIGHLIGHTS
The System copies data from the
CPCS kill bundle file to ACLS throughout
the day. You may perform the copying
task manually, or the System can
do it automatically. You have control
over what enters and exits ACLS,
and ACLS does not interfere with
CPCS operations.
There are four main tasks within
ACLS. During normal operation, these
tasks send various messages to the
MICR supervisor terminal. The four-character
task name at the beginning of each
message identifies the originator
of the message.
ACLS is the scheduler and controller
for the entire System. The first
function under ACLS is Daily Start-Up.
After completion, you are presented
with a menu from which you can select
options to perform the following
functions:
- Bundle Transfer
- Entry Survey Report
- Cycle Recap Report
- Bundle/Cash Letter Adjustments
- Cash Letter Printing
- Due-From Processing
- FED Tape/Rainbow Report
- Non-FED Settlement Report/Tape
- Daily Endpoint Recap Report
- Daily Holdover Recap Report
- Daily Cash Letter Charges Report
- Weekly FED Statement Reconcilement
- Monthly Endpoint Statistical
Report
CALG generates the System holiday
calendar file that determines availability
dates relative to processing dates.
You run CALG once a year or whenever
you format files.
LDOS is a stand-alone display utility
that lists bundles that are awaiting
transfer into the System.
ACLR is a menu-driven utility that
maintains the FED history file, facilitating
online editing and provide access
to the historical file. Other functions
include on-demand detail and summary
reports, file backup recovery, and
certain control flag settings.
BENEFITS
Improved Cash Letter Control
ACLS can create cash letters across
CPCS cycles. It allows you to display
kill bundles and cash letters and
adjust them online, allowing you
to control cash letter size, FED
product type and charges, destination,
availability assignment and work
class by sending schedule or by
endpoint.
Enhanced Supervisor Data
ACLS provides on-demand supervisory
status reports and automatic file
copies of all out-bound reports,
as well as rerun capabilities.
ACLS also interfaces with the CS
NeXGen Settlement™ product to provide
accurate, up-to-the minute transit
send statistics.
Reduced Settlement Effort
ACLS can produce automated FED and
non-FED settlement reports and
can create magnetic tapes.
Streamlined Sort Patterns
ACLS can determine the destination
of bundles being dispatched minimizing
the need for separate pocket/endpoint
designations for transit items
going to different endpoints.
Concise Reporting
ACLS has a comprehensive reporting
package that includes funds availability
reports by endpoint, cash letter
activity reports by endpoint, daily
endpoint and holdover reports,
monthly endpoint recaps, and cash
letter cross-reference.
Reduced Manual Effort
ACLS provides automated shipment
reports and automated settlement
and accounting records.
Single & Multi-Site
ACLS supports both single site and
multi-site environments.
