Settlement & Task Tracking (TRAK)

Carrekerxs Settlement & Task Tracking (TRAK) is an online, menu-driven system that automatically tracks captured check items and the CPCS tasks utilized to process them. TRAK automates the CPCS restart process using single keystrokes to select which tasks to restart, ensuring that the CPCS system is back up and running in a minimal amount of time. TRAK also features an online management information system that furnishes the real-time data necessary for critical decision making within the settlement process.

To accomplish the tracking of captured items, TRAK accumulates the check processing input data and the resulting output totals by interfacing with input data such as the Kill Bundle Data Set. From this interface, TRAK provides the pocket, endpoint, cash letter, rehandle processing status and accumulation totals.

TRAK follows each major stage of processing, allowing the workflow to be monitored and potential processing bottlenecks to be identified:

TRAK displays each of the CPCS tasks utilized throughout the item processing operation. For example, it records every time a CPCS task Attaches and Detaches. This simplifies the recovery procedures required after a CPCS shutdown by readily identifying which CPCS tasks must be restarted. In addition, TRAK contains settlement functions that define categories for data gathering by the General Ledger File Creation Program. This data may then be included in a report or fed directly to the bankxs G/L system.

As a result, TRAK provides a powerful management tool to oversee each major stage of processing and thus allows appropriate decisions to be made based on the most accurate and current information available.
