MICRSuite™ - Capture Correct

Carreker's MICRSuite-Capture Correct solution provides two important options for customers looking for reject repair and image capture solutions without the overhead of the High-Performance Transaction Processing System (HPTS) platform.

SUMMARY

Carreker's MICRSuite-Capture Correct provides two important options for customers looking for reject repair and image capture solutions without the overhead of the High-Performance Transaction Processing (HPTS) platform.

First, it provides a reject repair option that does not require HPTS, allowing its use for non-HPTS banks or remote sites of HPTS banks in situations where DCIMS is not acceptable.

And second, it may be used as a low volume image capture platform for banks that do not have HPTS installed. The application supports capture, MICR correction, and the creation of a CIFF output file of MICR and images that can be passed to other applications.

FUNCTIONS

Carreker's MICRSuite-Capture Correct, the first of a possible suite of products, is an NT based variation of Carreker's XP Low Speed Interface (XPLSI) based image capture and reject repair offerings.

This product uses certain XPLSI components to drive NCR 7780 transports and send captured MICR data to the IBM Check Processing Control System (CPCS) in the normal manner. Simultaneously, MICRSuite-Capture Correct captures the MICR and image data to an NT based image server. The CPCS host system does not require Application Library Services (ALS), allowing this new application to be used as a low volume image capture platform for a non-HPTS bank, or as a reject repair solution for a non-HPTS bank.

The MICR and image data stored at the NT server is available for subsequent processing steps, using standard XP sort patterns, that correct the MICR data for those items that were rejects during the capture process.

REJECT REPAIR

MICRSuite-Capture Correct allows the user to process rejects in either a one pass conventional workflow, or a two pass key from image workflow.

One Pass

In a one pass conventional flow, the standard XPLSI Hold & View functions are utilized, with rejects stopped in the transport and corrected by the operator. Corrected MICR data flows to CPCS in the normal manner and MICR and image data are stored at the NT server.

Two Pass

In a two pass key from image approach, images are stored at the NT server to be used during an image keying based reject correction process. Images are routed to MICRSuite-Capture Correct keying workstations for MICR data correction and validation, completing the reject correction process.

Upon completion of the two pass reject repair process, the application supports uploading the corrected data to CPCS. All subsequent processing has the same characteristics as Carreker's standard reject repair offerings.

SUPPORTING PRODUCTS

Carreker's Sort Simulator product, which is imbedded within MICRSuite-Capture Correct, is used to perform code-line validation. In addition, Carreker's Recognition (Reco) technology is used in MICRSuite-Capture Correct to minimize the amount of work requiring key entry. Sort Simulator and Reco are not licensed separately, but are delivered as components of the application.

The application also supports the creation of an image and MICR output file formatted in the CIFF format. This file contains the images of items that were captured and their associated corrected MICR data. This allows the users to transfer the images to other applications such as image archive, exceptions or CD-ROM solutions.
