NeXGen Image Processor
A WINDOWS-BASED SOLUTION
The NeXGen Image Processor (NeXGen IP) provides required functionality for Carreker’s Image Statements application in a Windows-based solution. Typically, Image Statements requires a NeXGen IP when 3897 Mod 1 images must be processed. These images are compressed using IBM’s proprietary ABIC format, and most commercial printers cannot scale and print them. In this case, the NeXGen IP 2 will decompress, scale, and recompress the images into a format that the printers can handle.
If Image Statements are created using only G4 compressed images (captured from 3897 Mod 4, 7780, or other image cameras), and if the customer uses printers capable of performing the required image scaling, then the Statement Application Bypass Print feature may be used in lieu of the NeXGen IP.
Statements From Archive
The NeXGen IP has the ability to retrieve images from Carreker’s Check Image Enterprise Archive (CIEA) in addition to being retrieving images from any of the CIMS family of image repositories. In this way, it provides support for building statements from archive rather than recapturing check images for image statement processing.
Scale-To-Fill
NeXGen IP includes a Scale to Fill feature that scales images both horizontally and vertically in order to fill uniform areas on the statement page.
This function offers an improvement over the IP 2 approach, in which images are scaled in a manner that causes checks of different sizes to be printed on statements in different sizes. Scale-to-fill scaling resolves this problem and produces a more consistent and attractive statement.
Format Options
NeXGen Image Processor can also be used to format CIMS, DCIMS and CIEA images with IOCA, TIFF, CIMS objects, CIFF and ILFF wrappers in preparation for import into an image repository.
