Document Repair™

Carreker's Document Repair facility offers operational and performance improvements to both prime pass capture, restore, and recapture processing, benefiting applications such as Image Statements and Image Delivery System.

SUMMARY

Document Repair is a generalized repair facility that allows workstation operators to reconcile image exception accounts with much greater efficiency than ever before. Image exception accounts are ones that have missing or suspect items. Missing items are captured items for which no image is available. Free items are image-captured items that have no apparent match to the DDA records for that account in a particular cycle. Suspect items are captured items for which the image is of poor or unknown quality.

The Document Repair operator can use a low-speed scanner to capture the missing and suspect items and add them to the image database for reconciliation. Document Repair also allows any Free items from previous capture passes to be automatically matched against a listing of missing items during image processing.

HIGHLIGHTS

In a restore from Archive or recapture scenario, Document Repair can be used to repair items in Image Statements and Image Delivery System processing, handle suspect items from the recapture, and resolve missing items with a significant improvement in operator productivity.

In addition, in prime pass image capture, Document Repair can be used to fix suspects prior to POD processing or to repair items prior to loading them to an image archive.

DESCRIPTION

Prior to the availability of Document Repair, the Statement Interactive Session (SIS) facility was the recommended image repair solution. Document Repair offers significant productivity and functionality improvements over the SIS facility.

While the operational flows for both the Image Statements and the Image Delivery applications remain essentially unchanged, Document Repair's streamlined workflow eliminates or automates many of the steps formerly performed by an operator.

  • Document Repair automatically matches free items and views/accepts suspect items.
  • Document Repair can batch scan and automatically match the remaining items.

The combined effect is improved efficiency, fewer mistakes, and fewer headaches.

  • Document Repair takes advantage of the automation features of the BUIC scanner, greatly improving operator productivity for scanning batches of missing images and automatically matching those images to appropriate items. When operating multiple workstations during the scan and match process, operator productivity can be increased up to 24 times.
  • Document Repair allows multiple operators to repair items within the same account, removing the restriction of one operator per account. Repair is handled from a cycle view rather than from only an account view, allowing for significantly faster resolution of the exception accounts.
  • Document Repair can replace the SIS process in the Statements or Image Delivery workflow with little change to the current operation.
