Regions Selects Key Components
of Carreker’s Source Capture
Suite
Corporate Capture and Web Capture
will allow Regions and its small
business and corporate customers
to realize cost savings, efficiencies
associated with check truncation.
DALLAS, TEXAS (February 21,
2006) — Carreker Corporation
(Nasdaq: CANI), a leading provider
of technology and consulting solutions
for the financial industry, announced
today that Regions Financial Corporation,
one of the nation’s Top 15
banks, has selected key components
of Carreker’s Source Capture
Suite™ to allow Regions Bank
and its business and corporate customers
to realize the benefits of remote
deposit capture.
Carreker’s Source Capture
suite of products, including Web Capture and
Corporate Capture, will allow
Regions and the business customers
it serves in 16 states across the
South, Midwest and Texas to capture
checks earlier in the deposit process,
significantly reducing transportation
costs and accelerating collection.
“Businesses increasingly place
a higher value on remote capture
and the convenience and cost savings
it brings,” said Regions’ Director
of Treasury Management Services Sandy
Wright. “Regions customers
soon will be able to benefit from
the latest in remote deposit capture
technology and a range of solutions
that includes an easy to install
Web-based client and a robust, feature-rich
client.”
John Carreker, President, Global
Payments Technologies, Carreker,
said, “Remote capture has emerged
as one of the first major benefits
of Check 21 and Regions is once again
demonstrating their industry leadership
by being one of the first banks in
the Southeast to offer their clients
remote capture capabilities using
Web-based technology.
“Our Source Capture suite
is capable of capturing check images
from any deposit-taking location
at a customer site, and we’re
proud that Regions has selected our
Web and Corporate Capture solutions
to help them reap some of the early
rewards of Check 21.”
Embedded in all components of Carreker’s
Source Capture suite are common,
open, integrated technologies for
image quality and usability, duplicate
item detection, item level qualification
and balancing, image replacement
document (IRD) file creation, and
electronic exchange. All are
designed to be compatible with the
user’s existing payments environment
and easily integrated with the existing
technology infrastructure.
The Source Capture Suite components
selected by Regions include Web Capture
and Corporate Capture.
- Web Capture is
a solution for businesses that
would typically capture hundreds
of items a day. It is an
easy-to-use, browser-based solution
offering check image capture and
processing and requiring minimal
software at the client site.
- Corporate Capture is
designed for corporate customers
that require a robust, locally
installed client to support higher
volumes or a more sophisticated
Accounts Receivable interface.
The system can be used to capture
payments and remittances in batches
and transmit them to the bank electronically. Carreker’s
Corporate Capture has been deployed
to corporate users with up to 3,000
items a day, and is designed to
accommodate up to 10,000 items
a day.
J.D. (Denny) Carreker, Chairman
and CEO, Carreker Corporation, said, “Our
in-depth knowledge of bank processes
and image capture technology make
us the ideal partner to help leading
banks like Regions seize the tremendous
opportunities that remote deposit
capture offers. We’re delighted
that they have selected our Source
Capture solutions to help them continue
to bring additional value and innovative
services to their customers.”
