Carreker Corporation Press Release - March 9, 2000

NCR and Carreker-Antinori Announce Marketing Alliance:

Agreement to Provide Electronic Check Presentment with Image Exchange Capabilities

LAS VEGAS – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) and Carreker-Antinori, Inc. (NASDAQ: CANI) announced today at BAI’s Transaction Processing 2000 conference the signing of a marketing/ISV agreement. Under the agreement, the two companies will provide the banking industry with a solution that, for the first time, will allow for image-enabled electronic check presentment and exchange.

According to Carreker-Antinori’s chairman and chief executive officer, J.D. "Denny" Carreker, the two companies have a common desire to promote electronic check presentment with image exchange (ECPIX). "Carreker-Antinori has earned a reputation as a respected market leader in the area of electronic check presentment (ECP). For years, one of our corporate goals has been to accelerate ECP acceptance and adoption rates within the U.S. banking community. This initiative has become even more important as banks continue to establish themselves as leaders within the e-commerce market. Enabling our current ECP solutions to support image exchange allows us to better position our clients for full ECP implementation and e-commerce expansion," said Carreker.

The inability to exchange check images electronically has long been a recognized barrier in the path of ECP advancement. However, the recent revision of Regulation CC, allowing electronic images of return items to replace the physical check, as well as the nationwide push for the acceptance of the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, has opened the door for widespread endorsement of electronic check processing.

Carreker-Antinori and NCR currently offer components of the image exchange solution that have already proven successful in the marketplace for both companies. Through this marketing alliance, NCR’s image-enabling ImageMark and PaymentMark solutions will be linked with Carreker-Antinori’s ECP applications – CheckLink®, Trac2ECP™, and Trac2Image™ – allowing for image exchange to be combined with the electronic transfer of check processing data. This new, combined solution paves the way for mature electronic check clearing and is scheduled to be available for pilot applications in the third quarter of 2000.

"Adding NCR image exchange capability to existing Carreker-Antinori applications, from a customer’s perspective, protects their current investment while providing an evolutionary image upgrade path," said Tony Bleses, vice president of Electronic Payments for NCR. "In addition, the combined solution provides a powerful alternative for major and mid-tier banks who have no ECP product today."

"For NCR and Carreker-Antinori, combining complementary elements results in an effective and complete end-to-end solution," continued Bleses. "Significant research and development avoidance and improved time-to-market is expected in lieu of each company pursuing individual solutions to ECPIX."

BAI Transaction Processing 2000 Conference Alert: Representatives from NCR and Carreker-Antinori will discuss the value of adding Image to Electronic Check Presentment on Thursday, March 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
