U.S.
Bank Plans New Technology In Branch
Operations
Carreker-Antinori's Software
Solution Yields Improved Customer
Service
(Dallas, January 27, 2000) - Carreker-Antinori,
Inc. (NASDAQ: CANI), announced today
that U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB), the
nation’s 12th largest bank
holding company, has contracted with
the company to integrate new software
and technology into the bank's branch
operations to augment its customer
service systems and improve internal
efficiencies. Dallas-based Carreker-Antinori
will integrate its Branch Item Truncation
System (BIT) with U.S. Bank’s
branch platform system.
"The branches are a key element
of the company’s infrastructure,
and our objective is to provide the
best client experience possible for
customers who come through our door," said
Peter Raskind, head of branch channel
for U.S. Bank. "We are adding to
the set of tools available to the
branch manager to solve customer
problems. With the addition of Carreker-Antinori’s
BIT, we will have another advanced
tool to help us deliver on our commitment
to quality service," Raskind continued.
The first stage of system usage
will begin this spring with installation
and systems compatibility testing.
Included with the BIT software installation
are other new technologies such as
check magnetic-code readers and information
capturing systems that will be installed
at the teller windows to enhance
service quality and reduce service
time. U.S. Bank expects to have the
system in place in a select group
of branches by the fourth quarter
of 2000.
Carreker-Antinori’s BIT system
is currently installed at several
top-tier U.S. banks; additionally,
the company has contracts pending
with several key regional banks.
"Our BIT software has become an
integral component of our clients’ transition
from a paper-based payment system,
to one driven by electronic processes," said
Royce Brown, executive vice president,
Carreker-Antinori. "As financial
institutions continue to carve out
their role in the e-commerce market,
technologies such as our BIT solution
not only support that role, but help
ensure that customer satisfaction
and accurate processing are not sacrificed."
"I appreciate Carreker-Antinori's
comprehensive approach and proven
track record surrounding this initiative," said
Peter Michielutti, head of information
services for U.S. Bank. "Our companies
formed a joint project team that
performed in-depth technical analyses
of how BIT could enrich our customers’ experience.
The team balanced their work against
other internal bank initiatives and
client sensitivities while maintaining
the focus of U.S. Bank’s commitment
to delivering quality service," said
Michielutti.
