Carreker Corporation Press Release - July 29, 1998

Carreker-Antinori Reports Dramatic Benefits from Effective Automation of Cash Forecasting in Fleet Bank Branches

(DALLAS, TX June 29, 1998) — Carreker-Antinori (NASDAQ:CANI) reports significant benefits at Fleet Financial Group, a $97.7 billion institution headquartered in Boston, MA, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: FLT). Carreker reported that average cash for Fleet Bank branches was dramatically reduced by more than $116 million dollars in May 1998 as compared to May 1997. This major reduction was due to the bank's execution of tactical reductions and the installation and implementation of Carreker-Antinori's CashForecasterTM product.

In order to accomplish the tactical reductions in advance of the CashForecaster system installation, the retail bank operations and Fleet's technology services project team applied seven months of analysis, development, and file scrubbing to create relevant cash usage reports using seven weeks of live 1998 cash pattern data obtained from all 1,200 branches.

"We are extremely pleased with the CashForecaster product and the results being realized to date in this project.", said LaMar R. Kelly, Vice President, Retail Services & Support Division of Fleet.

Using a least common denominator to reduce cash levels can produce some modest savings. However, with CashForecaster's daily dynamic forecasting, the bank can double or even triple the benefits of reducing branch excess cash. Plus, CashForecaster facilitates the optimum reduction in cash without increasing the risk of running out of cash. The possibility of running out of cash is an ever-present reminder that, without accurate forecasting tools, true cash minimization will never be realized.

Carreker-Antinori, Inc. teamed with Knowledge Based Systems, Inc. (KBSI), College Station, Texas, to develop CashForecaster. CashForecaster utilizes a client-server platform that conforms to state-of-the-art norms and standards.
