Tracking Fraud Losses: New System Uses Internet

A new loss and case management tracking application has been introduced by Carreker Corp. in Texas. The application, called FraudLink eTracker, has the flexibility to be used in one department or across a multi-state infrastructure. It is accessible through the Internet or the bank's Intranet network.

Charged-off losses are entered into the system for loss tracking analysis either by the branch or Risk Department. Losses requiring attention from Security or Investigations are forwarded automatically, based on the bank's parameter settings, with all information intact. Through an automated matching function, losses related to one another may be combined into one case, optimizing investigation efforts. Since the required fields already are populated with the transaction data from charge-off as well as return-item information, the data entry for Security and Investigations is minimal.

eTrackerTM allows the bank to measure the effectiveness of its current risk management tools through loss avoidance tracking. With this valuable information, effective fraud controls can be deployed and losses measured to actual loss trends. Departments performing loss prevention activity can enter the appropriate information into eTracker to produce enterprise-wide reporting. For more information, contact the Carreker Marketing Department.
